From the quarries at Lockport and Irvington to the Hitt Lane yard, every load that crosses our scales is held to the same standard — highway base, foundation stone, drainage rock or a farm driveway.
We produce what we sell rather than reselling someone else's stone, so a gradation we commit to is ours to honour. Delivery is contracted to haulers we keep on standby — we'd rather book a truck the day you need one than bill you for a fleet sitting idle.
Three generations of the same family.
William T. Liter started the quarry in 1939 to supply the Louisville market with construction-grade aggregate, and to make a modest living for his family. It has been family-owned and operated ever since.
What began as one quarry now runs from sand and gravel through every size of construction aggregate — limestone dust to Class III channel liner — for a homeowner putting in a driveway just as readily as for a contractor supplying a large job. Material is delivered by contracted haulers or picked up at the quarry.
